A federally funded researcher with a focus on hand, tendon, and upper extremity injuries, Bobby Chhabra, M.D., serves as Charles J. Frankel Endowed Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery with the University of Virginia (UVA) Health System. He also holds UVA positions as associate chief medical officer of surgical services, and vice chair of the Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Bobby Chhabra is an experienced educator and teaches at and directs a number of orthopaedic board review courses. His instructional efforts over the years have earned him the UVA School of Medicine Award for Excellence in Teaching, the UVA School of Medicine Master Educator Award, and the Charles W. Miller Chief Resident Teaching Award for the UVA Department of Orthopaedics. He earned the Best Lecturer Award in 2006 for a Miller Orthopaedic Board Review course.<br />

Widely published in his field, Dr. Chhabra has authored more than 75 academic articles and book chapters, and has presented at more than 100 professional events worldwide. He co-edited the Hand & Wrist Section of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Comprehensive Orthopaedic Review (2nd Edition, 2013). Dr. Bobby Chhabra ia also the co-editor and author of Arthritis and Arthroplasty: Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Arthritis (Elsevier Publishing, Philadelphia).
